... Norelco Electric Razor 6843XL
I've owned this "shaving system" for three months. Owning a shaving system makes me feel more advanced than owning an ordinary electric razor, and for the money it's a cheap way to feel good about oneself. I feel better paying $57.99 for a shaving system than paying $169.99 for a Shaving System Pro. As long as it works. So far, this works.
The ReflexPlus6 Rechargeable Tripleheader Shaving System (whew) is comfortable to use, rides the waves but doesn't jump the bumps or cut the corners (unless you lean on it). After using the system for only three months my wife says I've become kinder, gentler, smoother and milder of manner. (Use this testimonial to convince someone special in your life to buy the system for you. That way you'll get a free system, but you might have to be nice for a change, for a little while.)
I can't make a case for the carrying "case." I don't call it a case. I call it a bag. But I don't carry it any place, so I don't care. The carrying bag would be nice if you carried it inside a real case. Like a suitcase or guitar case. I wouldn't take it to the South Pole in any case. In that case I'd use embers from the camp fire.
I also don't know how 30 minutes of shave time is calculated. Even after the full 8 hours of charging I've only gotten an average of 17.61 minutes per charge, calculated over three charging periods which, for me, is about 7 close shaves per charge. That's fine with me. It's no big deal to plug the system in. Just don't call 17.61 minutes 30 minutes. It takes about 30 minutes for the green LED to indicate that the system is ready for 17.61 more minutes of fun. Why leave it plugged in for 8 hours anyhow, I figure, since it doesn't seem to make any difference, other than shorten the battery life. If you must, use it plugged in if the battery is dead, although the manual says that the battery won't last as long if used in this way.
As for the metallic blue "pizazz" mentioned in the Amazon description, well, maybe or maybe not. Mine came in two shades: silver and gray, more like myself. No pizazz for me, but plenty of sophistication.
I inherited my last Norelco and used it for ten years or so, replacing the heads once. I don't know how long it had been in use prior to my taking it over, the model number hasn't produced any search results. It finally broke. It was also a three rotary head razor (not system). It got the job done, but compared with this new system it was like mowing my face. That is to say, THUMBS UP for this shaving system. If it lasts one third of the time my last Norelco lasted, I'll be quite pleased. ...
